Project Background

The Camacho Surname Project is trying to unite all the Camacho's of the world through YDNA. We need volunteers for this project. With this project we can know if all the Camacho's are related, we can know how many Camacho Clans exists today, and Point of Origin of the Camacho lineages. We have another big objetive with this project. To know if the Camacho's that live in Puerto Rico come from the same lineage.

Project Goals

In Puerto Rico, there were Camacho's early in the colonization, there were Camacho's arriving in the late 1800's... are all of them from the same lineage?

Are the Camacho's of Puerto Rico from the same lineage as the ones in Mexico, Bolivia, Spain or Portugal?

If you're a Camacho and a male, we encourage you to do the YDNA-12, 25 or 37 test. If you're a Camacho female, you can encourage your father or brother or Camacho cousin to do the test. You can also test your mtDNA test too if you are a Camacho male, in this way, we can see how our lineages are related to the female mtDNA of the Camachos.

If you are a Camacho living anywhere in the world, Join Us! There are Camacho's spread all over America and Europe, even in Asia, the Pacific and everywhere.

Project News

Our project has recently started. So far we have only two participants who matched in all the 12 and 25 markers.

There's only one mismatch at the DYS CDYa of the total y37 markers.

Both participants are E3b1 beta cluster, with DYS numbers specific to Spain.
