Welcome to:
The Hispanic DNA
Surname and Geographic Projects
This
is the home of many of the Hispanic Administrators of the DNA Surname
and Geographic Projects. We are located in places as diverse as
Florida, New Mexico, Texas, London, New York, Arizona, Cuba, Santo
Domingo and Puerto Rico. We hope to share with you a relatively new and
exciting science which brings together traditional genealogy and the
technology of genetics in furthering our search for our ancestors
and our common origins.
We share a similar language and culture but are also a very diverse
group. Many of us are seasoned genealogists
with 15-30 years of experience who are from all walks of life while
others are fairly new researchers learning as they go. We have very
large projects with 40 to 80 members while others are just beginning.
One thing is certain, we all share a common goal.
- To discover our roots -
Some Administrators are the heads
of single Surname Projects hoping to link to other individuals with the same surname in order to find
a common male ancestor through their paternal yDNA. While others head
Geographical Projects whose goal is to find the mutual links of members belonging to a specific island, country or area not only
genealogically, but also through the yDNA inherited from the father and
the mitochondrial DNA inherited maternally.
Note:
We
have tried to make this site as user friendly as possible. Follow the
links to the different Hispanic Surname or Geographic Projects or Areas
which are of interest to you. This site is bilingual. We would
recommend starting with the FAQ page and that you visit it often as you
learn new words or see something which you do not understand. We
will be constantly updating our DNA results so come back often.
We hope that you will consider joining one of our many projects.
Please Enjoy Your Stay!
